Voice acting is more vulnerable to inauthenticity than visual media—there are no sets or costumes to help sell the illusion, no wide shots to distract the audience when a take isn’t quite working. Every shot is an extreme close‑up. That’s why we need to get the real take—the one that’s utterly present, authentic and evocative. And once you’ve got it, move on.

I prefer to be positive and encouraging: having fun and enjoying the process isn’t just a byproduct of making good work; it’s an intentional strategy to bring the best out of actors, and it generates the unpredictable excellence that sets a project apart.

I came up in recording studios, and I’m genuinely passionate about this art and always listening for the musicality of the performance. When the room is charged, and the talent feels valued and trusted, the next line is always easier than the last.
